Floral City Strawberry Festival
Description:
Location: Floral Park
Floral City - Hwy. 41, 2 ½ miles south of Floral City
Parking for this event is available at the Citrus County Fair Grounds with $1.00 per person, round-trip. Shuttle service running continuously to and from Floral Park. Limited additional parking is available at Floral Park. Handicapped parking is limited.
Hours: Saturday 9-5, Sunday 9-4.
Cost: $2.00 per person admission, children under 12 are free.
The primary focus of the event is of course, the celebration of strawberries - by the berry, by shortcake, by the flat or covered in chocolate! This year's event will again feature strawberry delicacies to tempt the palette. Over 120 craft vendors (all work done by hand) will offer an array of items to please all areas of interest.
Each day will include continuous live entertainment, contests, children games and activities and over 200 art and craft booths and over 25-food booths to tempt your appetite.
Special features include an antique car show, pony rides, rock climbing wall, pie eating contest and Strawberry Princess pageants & continuous children's activities.

Seminole Indian Battle Re-enactment
Experience living history demonstrations, period arts and crafts, entertainment, food and refreshments.
Second Seminole War battle reenactments that depict the events that took place during the construction of the Fort will be held twice daily at 11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m.

FORT COOPER DAYS
This annual event will be March 21st and 22nd, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The reenactments of the Second Seminole War battle will be at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day. There will also be Living History Demonstrations, Period Arts & Crafts, Exhibits, Entertainment, Food and Refreshments.

Citrus County Transit offers reduced fare for senior citizen to attend fair on “Senior Fair Day,” Tuesday. Residents living in Inverness may choose the 10:00 am, or 12:30 pm bus to go to the Fair, and the return choices for Inverness residents are 1:30 pm, or 3:00 pm. The reduced fare is $1.00 each way. Residents who qualified to ride free of charge under one of our programs will not have to pay for their transportation.

EASTER EGG HUNT
The Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for area children at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
Donation of $5.00 for children includes admission to park
Adults receive a 33% discount on park admission
Activities include an Easter Egg hunt for plastic eggs, which can then be redeemed for goodies and trinkets.
Parents can take children’s photos with the Easter Bunny and other costumed characters.
